Hansi Flick doesn’t want to see Barcelona let go of any more players, particularly Eric Garcia, who has been linked with a move to Girona.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has ruled out the club’s plan to sell Alex Garcia to Girona in a deal worth around €15m, Ufabet Sport reported on Monday.

Barcelona have released Ilkay Gundogan, Mikayil Faye, Vitor Roque and Clement Lenglet but it is not enough to register Daniel Olmo, although Pablo Torre could be loaned out, which would not solve the salary cap issue.

The club are therefore considering other options, particularly the sale of Eric Garcia, who spent last season on loan at Girona, and the Catalan club are keen to re-sign the 24-year-old, but Flick is unwilling to lose any more of the players who have already left.

‘I think some players have left the team in the last few days. We also need some players who can play and compete with other teams. For me now, for the team, I’m OK. I trust Dani. What we can do is bring him in,’ Flick said.

Barcelona currently have six centre-backs in their squad: Inigo Martinez, Jules Kounde, Pau Gubarsi, Eric Garcia, Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen, Promotion Ufabet with the latter two currently recovering from injuries.

Flick also spoke about Vitor Roque’s departure, saying: ‘We can’t say that I don’t count Vitor, that would be incorrect. All I can say is what he told me.’

‘He came from Brazil, in a situation that was not easy for him. It’s going well for him. He’s a good guy and we hope he can improve his performance.’

Asked if he would make any more signings, Flick said: ‘I don’t think about signing anything. I’m interested in the players I have at the moment. I’m really happy with them. If there are changes or additions to give more quality, that’s fine. I’m happy with the players I have.’
